RT Selector
Street Atlas Soundsystem (SAS) is the true pioneer sound outa Russia, Moscow and RT is the true “break new ground engine” to this sound. The first sign of Street Atlas Sound machine and RT selector appeared around Christmas 2001 in UK, Colchester.
RT started off mashing some house parties and some local clubs. RT selects most choons we play and deals directly with the music, ordering, sorting out dubplates and contacts artists fi more music. Sometimes he can spend days doing his selections and completely looses the track of time.. (for real, it’s a lot of time RT wastes on it, de bwoy loves it! :). Anyways, in a likkle more SAS got a weekly radio slot pon RED AM1404, local radio station at the Univ. of Essex. RT started off doing the show with a brederen Ratchet (outa Jamaica), but unfortunately at the end of the year Ratchet had to drop off the uni and RT went solo again. At that time it was pure enthusiasm, we had to PR ourselves in all possible ways. One couldn’t find much dancehall shows around Colchester, so RT got off his ass and started arranging shows around the area every now and then. Sometimes it was big, sometimes not that big. The idea was to do it right, mek sure there were shows to see and dances to dance.
RT stayed in the UK till summer 2004 before he set off elsewhere in Europe.. Up to di time we got nuff interesting contacts to many UK sounds and true dancehall founders outa Jamaica in UK. Along those two years breder Kurhan and Obeisobakah joined the sound. They did and keep doing a MASSIVE BIG work in Moscow to prepare the home ground for dancehall, so in September 2004 the current crew got together for the first Moscow show, Moscow Dancehall Fire. That was BIG, you can check out the reports and some pics in the events. But that was just a start, the road is open, the fire is burning and nuff things are coming. Perhaps ever since we started off it was our biggest ambition to rule the dancehall scene of Russia, and we will be fighting to keep going and mek it work. SAS ain’t afraid to keep trying to break through to the big heights through showing public new things, we love it and will do more then just the best we can to be the TOP SOUND around!

One had to get friendly with computers and musical instruments. Had to get to know PILES of sound equipment, went through some books and loads and loads of practice. NUFF RESPECTS TO ALL SPECIALISTS in the area of INGENEERING PSYCHOLOGY (people who make it understandable and intuitively possible for us to get aware of various devices)! otherwise I could get mental while trying to comprehend a couple of gadgets :8-). As well I had to reconcile to the fact that even computers like to be capricious and whimper! and human principles oftentimes become stiff mathematical laws...
Creating targets, embodying various ideas – that is interesting.
Sometimes that is more interesting then being just an ordinary consumer! It’s wicked when one got a possibility to choose what to do :8-)
The project I’m honored to be working at, I regard as an important cultural element. The influence of deep and ancient decisions always brought up many surprises when superposed with modern influences.
You see, only since recent times the Synthesis of cultures yields incredible unpredictable fruits!!! HURRAY!
